Kolkata Airport Expands International Connectivity with New Kolkata Bangkok flight and Kuala Lumpur flight

This winter, Kolkata Air Terminal is set to be a major centre for worldwide travel with the expansion of new flights from Thai Lion Aviation and Malaysian Airlines. Beginning mid-December, travellers will have more alternatives to tour the dynamic cities of Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Thai Lion Air, a low-cost carrier, will commence four Kolkata Bangkok flights per week between Kolkata and Bangkok’s airport terminal on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The flight will return from Bangkok at 12:30 am and reach Kolkata at 1:35 am (Local Kolkata time). On the return travel, it’ll fly out of Kolkata at 2:35 am and reach Bangkok at 6:35 am (Thai time).

Malaysia Airlines is additionally continuing operations post-pandemic with coordinated flights between Kolkata and Kuala Lumpur five days a week. The flight will reach Kolkata at 11:10 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The return flight, MH 185, will take off at 12:10 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

These new routes are part of Kolkata airport’s efforts to enhance international connectivity and provide more travel choices for tourists. With the expansion of these Kolkata Bangkok flights, the airport’s week-by-week worldwide flights will increase to 146, making it simpler for travellers to explore the said destinations.

Airport director Pravat Ranjan Beuria expressed excitement about the new developments, stating, “We are upgrading facilities at the international wing of the airport and are in talks to resume and add more international flights.”

The new flights come at a time when universal travel is bouncing back, and visitors are enthusiastic to explore new destinations. With the included comfort of coordinated flights, travellers can presently appreciate consistent ventures to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, making their winter excursions indeed more important.
