Saraswati World School campus came alive with the spirit of sportsmanship, unity and youthful energy as it hosted its much-awaited Annual Sports Day 2025 on December 18, 2025. Marked by vibrant performances, competitive races and inspiring addresses, the day unfolded as a grand celebration of physical fitness, discipline and holistic education.
Annual Sports Day 2025 Inauguration
The Annual Sports Day 2025 commenced on an auspicious and dignified note with a felicitation ceremony, honouring the school’s Vice-Chairman, Director, and Principal. Special recognition was also accorded to Ms Srija Saha, a distinguished Yogasana champion at the district, national, and international levels, along with the school’s junior achievers, Ishan Singh and Navya Singh, whose accomplishments drew warm applause from the gathering.
This was followed by the garlanding of Late Saraswati Devi (School in her memory) portrait and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Vice-Chairman, Director, Principal and the Chief Guest, symbolising the triumph of knowledge, enlightenment and values that guide the institution.
Speakers
Addressing the students, Vice-Chairman Mr Vinod Singh delivered a powerful and inspiring message, urging them to imbibe true sportsmanship — a quality, he emphasised, that shapes winners not just on the field but in life. His words were complemented by Principal Ms Shyamasree Biswas, who eloquently spoke about the deeper lessons of winning and losing, encouraging students to face both success and setbacks with grace and resilience. The motivational address by Chief Guest Ms Srija Saha further energised the young athletes, reinforcing the importance of discipline, dedication and self-belief.
Programs
The atmosphere turned patriotic as the National Flag was unfurled and the School Flag hoisted, followed by an impeccably coordinated march past by SWS students. The march past stood as a powerful display of discipline, unity and collective pride, reflecting the school’s emphasis on teamwork, perseverance and respect — qualities essential both in sports and in life.
Lantern Fest 2025: Saraswati World School Illuminates Minds with Innovation and Imagination
A proud moment followed as the school captains were honoured with sashes and administered an oath, pledging to serve as responsible, confident and globally aware leaders. The visual grandeur continued with a stunning pyramid formation, symbolising unity, trust and strength, showcasing the students’ coordination, balance and teamwork.
Sporstsmanship
Adding colour and charm to the day was a delightful aerobic dance performance by students of Classes I and II. Their innocent smiles, vibrant costumes and energetic moves won hearts and brought joyful cheer to the audience.
The competitive segment of the Annual Sports Day 2025 then took centre stage, featuring a wide range of track and fun events including 25m, 75m, 100m and 200m races, along with Umbrella Race, Chocolate Race, Hurdle Race, Collect the Balls, Dress-Up Race and Ring Race. The young athletes displayed remarkable enthusiasm, determination and sports spirit throughout the competitions.
Prize distribution
The prize distribution ceremony, held alongside the events, added to the excitement as winners proudly mounted the victory stand to receive trophies, medals and certificates, celebrating their hard-earned achievements amid loud applause.
True to the inclusive spirit of the Annual Sports Day 2025, special events were organised for the parents and staff as well. Male parents enthusiastically participated in the Hurdle Race, while female parents enjoyed the Ring Race, creating moments of laughter and bonding. The Passing the Ball event for teachers and non-teaching staff further strengthened the sense of camaraderie within the SWS family.
The Annual Sports Day 2025 concluded on a high note, leaving behind memories of joy, pride and togetherness.
