Shillong/Indore, June 10, 2025 — In a crime straight out of a thriller, the honeymoon murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi has unveiled a horrifying web of betrayal, contract killing, and premeditated deceit. What began as a romantic getaway to Meghalaya turned into a cold-blooded murder allegedly orchestrated by Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi and her lover Raj Kushwaha.
🕵️ A Murder Plot Unveiled: Clues That Speak

Investigators have unearthed chilling forensic evidence that confirms the murder was no accident but a meticulously planned crime:
- 🩸 Blood-stained shirt worn by Akash Rajput, one of the alleged killers, tested positive for Raja’s DNA.
- 🧥 Sonam Raghuvanshi’s raincoat was found with blood traces, now undergoing detailed forensic examination.
- 🔪 Murder weapon: a khukri, a curved Nepali blade, recovered from a concealed location near Cherrapunji.
- 🧤 Fingerprints from the accused were found on Raja’s luggage and weapon handle.
- 📹 42 CCTV footages reveal the movements of Sonam Raghuvanshi and the killers before and after the murder.
- 📱 Call detail records (CDRs) confirm real-time communication between Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three hired killers.
- 📍 Mobile location data places all suspects near the murder site on May 23, the day of the killing.
- 📝 Hotel bookings and rental contracts made in the name of the accused corroborate pre-planning.
- 🗣️ Verbal confessions from the killers during interrogation have further cemented the prosecution’s case.
🔍 What’s Missing?
Despite the mountain of evidence, key gaps remain:
- Sonam Raghuvanshi’s mobile phone is still missing — a potential goldmine of texts, images, and call logs.
- The ₹20 lakh payment trail allegedly promised to the contract killers remains untraced.
- Investigators are still mapping the escape routes and hideouts used post-crime.
