Kolkata Metro’s Expansion: Overcoming Delays to Enhance Connectivity
The Kolkata Metro, India’s spearheading metro service, is on the brink of a noteworthy expansion. The proposed expansion from Howrah to Chuchura has started significant interest and debate. Roughly 20 km of the proposed 59 km expansion is held up due to these challenges.
Vaishnaw emphasized that the completion of any railroad venture pivots on different variables, including speedy land acquisition by the state government, forest clearances and statutory approvals. He too highlighted the significance of socio-economic contemplations and traffic projections in sanctioning such projects.
