Saraswati World School Celebrates Annual Function “Oorja 2025” with Grandeur and Cultural Splendor
Bandel, January 12, 2025 – Saraswati World School witnessed a day of vibrant celebration and cultural brilliance as it hosted its annual function, “Oorja 2025,” on its premises. The event, held with great enthusiasm, began at 11:30 am and brought together a distinguished audience comprising dignitaries, parents, faculty, and students.

The program opened with a warm welcome and a ceremonial garlanding and lamp-lighting ceremony, presided over by the Honourable Chairman, Mr Vikrant Singh, Vice Chairman, Mr Vinod Singh, and Director, Mrs. Sneha Singh. Esteemed guests, including the Chief Guests Mr Biswajit Mukherjee (renowned environmentalist and social activist) and Mr Debashis Mukhopadhyay (acclaimed researcher and writer), graced the occasion. Both delivered inspiring speeches emphasizing the role of education in addressing pressing societal and environmental challenges.
The school’s Principal, Mrs Shyamasree Biswas, presented the annual report, highlighting the institution’s remarkable achievements and progress over the past year. The Chairman addressed the gathering, reiterating the importance of education in shaping young minds and building a brighter future.
Adding to the day’s significance, the Vice Chairman, Mr. Vinod Singh, launched a new book titled School Education in India in 2024, furthering the school’s contributions to academic discourse.
The event featured a series of captivating cultural performances by the students, showcasing their talent and creativity. Highlights of the program included:




- A powerful Shiv Tandav dance performance.
- The dance drama Nari Shakti, celebrating women’s empowerment.
- Musical renditions of Achutam Keshabam and a lively Hindi mashup.
- A thematic presentation dedicated to Swami Vivekananda.
- Thought-provoking dramas, including Siksha ka Mulyo (Hindi) and The Kindness of Ram (English).
- Heartwarming dance performances devoted to parents.
The youngest participants, the pre-primary students, stole the show with their energetic and adorable dance routines. The grand finale featured a nostalgic Black & White Era dance and a stirring Bhagwat Singh dance drama. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience with pride and unity.
The annual “Oorja 2025” function was a resounding success, reflecting Saraswati World School’s unwavering commitment to holistic education. By blending academics with cultural and artistic expression, the event reinforced the institution’s vision of nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped to excel in every sphere of life.
