PM Modi Calls for Unity and Constructive Debate Ahead of Budget Session
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has struck a conciliatory tone while also firmly criticizing the opposition ahead of the crucial Budget Session of Parliament. In his address to the media, Modi urged all political parties to rise above partisan politics and work together for the nation’s progress over the next five years.
PM Modi Speech
The Prime Minister minced no words in lambasting the opposition for disrupting parliamentary proceedings in the last session, accusing them of attempting to “muzzle” the government’s voice. He argued that such tactics have no place in a democracy and undermine the will of the 140 crore Indians who voted for the BJP-led NDA government.
PM Modi Appeal
However, Modi also extended an olive branch, appealing to the opposition to use the “dignified platform of Parliament” constructively to discuss issues of national importance]. He emphasized that the upcoming Budget will be a crucial milestone in the government’s “Amrit Kaal” journey, setting the direction for the next five years and laying the foundation for realizing the dream of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
Opposition
The PM Modi’s remarks come against the backdrop of the opposition INDIA alliance gearing up to corner the government on a range of issues, from the NEET paper leak to unemployment and price rise. The government, on its part, has signalled a willingness to discuss all matters as per the rules.
As the Budget Session commences, it remains to be seen whether the opposition heeds Modi’s call for unity and restraint or continues to disrupt proceedings. The nation will be watching keenly to see if the government and opposition can rise above partisan politics and work together to address the pressing challenges facing the country.
