In a heart-wrenching episode that has jolted the nation, a 17-year-old NEET aspirant was allegedly beaten to death by her father for underperforming in a mock test. š Exam Pressure Tragedy- From Aspiration to Agony

The victim, Sadhana Bhonsle, a bright student from Nelkaranji village in Sangliās Atpadi tehsil, had scored a commendable 92.6% in her Class 10 exams. With dreams of becoming a doctor, she was preparing for NEET, one of the most competitive exams in the country.
But when she scored lower than expected in a recent mock test, her father, Dhondiram Bhonsle, a school principal, allegedly lost his temper. Enraged by her performance and a reported comment comparing their academic achievements, he attacked her with a wooden stick, inflicting fatal injuries to her head.
Instead of seeking medical help, Bhonsle attended a Yoga Day event the next morning. Upon returning, he discovered Sadhana unconscious and rushed her to Ushakal Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.

Sadhanaās mother filed a police complaint on June 22. Dhondiram Bhonsle has since been arrested and remanded to police custody until June 24. The case is being pursued under:
- Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (new penal code)
- Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act
āThe autopsy confirmed blunt force trauma and multiple injuries consistent with a violent assault,ā stated Senior Inspector Vinay Bahir of Atpadi Police Station.
