Typically expected to reach full coverage by July 8, the monsoon has already swept through Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, nine days ahead of schedule. While this brings much-needed respite from the intense summer heat, it also raises red flags for flooding, crop damage, and urban disruption.

With the entire country now under the monsoon’s cover, agricultural activity is expected to receive a boost, especially for kharif sowing. However, experts are urging state authorities to remain vigilant, particularly in low-lying flood-prone districts, as early monsoon surges have historically caused urban flooding in metros like Mumbai, Patna, and Bengaluru.
🗣️ Weather update -IMD Advisory to Citizens:
- Avoid unnecessary travel in high-alert zones.
- Stay tuned to regional alerts via the IMD app and local administration.
- Farmers are advised to monitor soil and crop moisture levels carefully.
- Urban residents should prepare for potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
⚠️ Final Word for Weather update: Nature’s Double-Edged Sword
This early monsoon is both a climate milestone and a climate test. As India welcomes rains to beat the heat, it must also adapt to the increasing unpredictability of weather patterns brought on by climate change and urbanisation.
Stay dry. Stay informed.
