Saraswati World School Celebrates a Grand Annual Function 2025 with Culture, Creativity and Excellence

The Annual Function 2025 of Saraswati World School was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy on 20 December 2025 in the school grounds, transforming the campus into a vibrant centre of culture, creativity, and celebration. The evening witnessed an impressive gathering of dignitaries, parents, teachers, and students, all united to celebrate another successful year in the school’s journey.

The programme began with a warm and respectful welcome to the Chief Guests, the Principal, teachers, parents, and students. The formal inauguration was marked by the garlanding and auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment, followed by the soulful rendition of the school anthem, which filled the atmosphere with pride and unity.

Setting a divine tone for the cultural evening, students presented a graceful Ganesh Vandana followed by a powerful rendition of the Mahisasur Mardini Stotra, captivating the audience with devotion and artistic expression. Thereafter, the Honourable Director, Mr Akshat Singh, addressed the gathering and shared his thoughtful reflections on the importance of holistic education and cultural values.

A proud moment for the school followed when the Chief Guests honoured Saraswati World School as the Best School, presenting the award to the Principal Ma’am. As a gesture of respect and appreciation, the Honourable Vice-Chairman presented books as gifts to the Chief Guests — Mr Debaditya Mazumder, a renowned author, and Mr Shyam Prakash Rajak, a retired District Court Judge.

The cultural segment continued with a mesmerising Vishnu Avatars dance drama, where students beautifully enacted the different avatars of Lord Vishnu, blending mythology with expressive storytelling.

This was followed by the presentation of the Annual Report by the Principal Ma’am, highlighting the school’s notable achievements in academics, sports, cultural activities, and community service over the year.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest inspired students to work hard, remain disciplined, and nurture strong moral values alongside academic excellence. The message resonated deeply with students and parents alike.

Adding a strong moral dimension to the evening, students staged an English drama titled “Lost Wallet”, based on the theme “Honesty is the Best Policy”, effectively conveying how honesty is ultimately rewarded. This was followed by a series of vibrant cultural performances, including classical and modern dances, melodious songs, a socially relevant skit, and a short musical performance — all of which received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Celebrating regional culture, students presented a delightful mash-up of Bengali folk songs, showcasing the richness and beauty of folk traditions. The youngest performers of the school — students from Classes 1 and 2 — won hearts with their lively dance titled “Mobile”, spreading an important message about excessive mobile phone usage and the need for real human connections.

Two power-packed performances — a group dance and a chorus song — were specially dedicated to Operation Sindoor, adding depth and patriotic emotion to the programme. This was followed by the Academic Prize Distribution Ceremony, where meritorious students were honoured for excellence in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. Awards for the TED Talk Competition and Best Sportsperson were also presented, boosting students’ confidence and morale.

In a heartfelt tribute to musical legends, students and teachers jointly performed a song to mark the 100th birth anniversary of composer and lyricist Salil Choudhury. Students of Class 8 staged an engaging Hindi drama and also presented a musical mash-up paying tribute to R. D. Burman, featuring some of his most popular compositions. Adding glamour to the evening, students from Classes 5, 7, 9, and 11 delivered an energetic Bollywood-themed dance performance.

The programme concluded with a sincere vote of thanks proposed by the anchor, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, parents, teachers, students, and organisers for their support and cooperation. The evening ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.

The Annual Function 2025 was a grand success, leaving behind cherished memories and reinforcing Saraswati World School’s commitment to nurturing talent, values, and excellence in every child.
