Akshata, the daughter of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and philanthropist-author Sudha Murty, grew up deeply connected to Kannada traditions. Sunak, who met her while pursuing his MBA at Stanford University, said the proposal in her mother tongue was a symbolic gesture to “embrace everything that matters to her.”
“I may not speak Kannada well, but I wanted the proposal to be meaningful and personal,” Sunak said.
