🚆 RailOne: One App to Travel Smarter
In a bold move that marks a new chapter in its digital journey, the Ministry of Railways has unveiled RailOne, a unified mobile application designed to simplify and streamline railway services for millions of passengers. The app was officially launched by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi and is now available on both Android and iOS platforms.

Created by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), RailOne is being hailed as a “super app” that centralises key passenger services previously available across multiple apps.
“RailOne is a one-stop solution for passengers, eliminating the need to juggle between multiple apps,” said a Railways spokesperson.

RailOne comes packed with powerful features and a secure, intuitive interface designed to elevate the travel experience:
- 🎫 Unreserved and Platform Ticket Booking
✔ Get a 3% discount on digital payments - 📍 Live Train Tracking
✔ Know real-time train location and coach positions - 📢 Grievance Redressal via Rail Madad
✔ Raise complaints or suggestions seamlessly - 🍽️ E-Catering Integration
✔ Order meals to your seat during the journey - 🧳 Porter Booking
✔ Book luggage assistance at major railway stations - 🚕 Last-Mile Connectivity
✔ Reserve autos or taxis for onward travel - 💳 R-Wallet Integration
✔ Digital wallet for easy in-app transactions
While reserved ticketing remains within IRCTC’s scope, RailOne is fully authorised and seamlessly connects with IRCTC services, functioning similarly to licensed partner apps.
🔧 Overhauling the Passenger Reservation System (PRS)
Minister Vaishnaw also unveiled plans for modernising the PRS, which is being rebuilt with:
- Multilingual Support and Inclusive Design
- Capability to process 1.5 lakh bookings and 40 lakh enquiries per minute
- New features: Seat selection, fare calendar, and concessions for divyangjan, students, and patients
📅 New Rail Policies Effective from July 1, 2025
In addition to the RailOne launch, several critical reforms were introduced:
- ✅ Aadhaar verification is now mandatory for Tatkal and emergency IRCTC bookings
- ✅ Reservation chart preparation now 8 hours before departure (earlier 4)
- ✅ Fare Rationalisation:
– ₹0.01/km hike for non-AC
– ₹0.02/km hike for AC
– No change for suburban and short-distance fares
