CBSE Registration 2025–26

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a comprehensive circular detailing the process of registration for students of Class IX and XI for the academic session 2025–26. A significant update in this year’s registration is the integration of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR ID) with the student database, aligning with the government’s “One Nation, One Student ID” initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

🔹 APAAR ID Now Integral to Registration

For the first time, CBSE registration has mandated that every student’s APAAR ID be entered during registration. However, in recognition of technical and administrative difficulties, the Board has introduced two new options:

• REFUSED: To be marked when parents deny consent for generating APAAR ID. Schools must keep a signed record of the denial.
• NOGEN: To be used when IDs cannot be generated due to mismatches in Aadhaar, UDISE, or technical errors.

CBSE clarified that while flexibility is being offered in 2025–26, from the 2026–27 session, APAAR IDs will be mandatory for all students. Schools have been urged to correct Aadhaar and UDISE data proactively to avoid last-minute challenges.

🔹 Responsibilities of Schools and Principals

The circular stresses the accountability of school heads. Principals are required to:

• Convene meetings with teachers and staff handling registration.
• Brief parents and students on the importance of accurate data submission.
• Ensure compliance with the CBSE norm of a maximum of 40 students per section.
• Monitor registration progress daily in the week leading up to deadlines.

🔹 CBSE Registration Process and Verification

• Schools must first update OASIS and HPE portals before beginning registration.
• Data can be entered either directly (for smaller batches) or uploaded in bulk via Excel (only once; subsequent changes must be made online).
• A Data Verification Slip will be generated for each student. Corrections will only be permitted during the window from 14 to 28 November 2025. No corrections will be accepted thereafter.

🔹 Fee Structure (India) for CBSE registration

• ₹320 per student (Classes IX & XI)
• Late fee: ₹2000 per student
• Training Fee: ₹20,000 per school
• Sports Fee: ₹10,000 per school
• No fee for visually impaired candidates

All payments must be made online through Net banking, UPI, NEFT, RTGS, or SWIFT.

🔹 Support for CWSN Students

The Board has reiterated that Children With Special Needs (CWSN) must be marked during CBSE registration to avail of relaxations. The guidelines reference the earlier CBSE circular dated 12 April 2019, which outlines concessions such as subject relaxations and support facilities.

• Registration without late fee: 16 September – 16 October 2025
• Registration with late fee: 17 – 31 October 2025
• Correction Window: 14 – 28 November 2025
• Final Registration & Fee Payment: As per CBSE schedule
