“Touch the Sky With Glory”: IAF Sends Off Shubhanshu Shukla for Space in Grand Style

With the inspiring words “Touch the sky with glory”, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially extended its heartfelt wishes to Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who is gearing up for a historic launch aboard Axiom-4 — a private space mission in collaboration with SpaceX and NASA.

This mission is set to make Shukla the second Indian astronaut after Rakesh Sharma to journey into space, nearly four decades since India’s first manned mission in 1984.

🚀 India’s Youngest Astronaut Takes Flight

Set to launch on June 11 aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, a test pilot and IAF combat leader, will serve as the pilot on this ambitious 14-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

The Axiom-4 crew will conduct crucial experiments on space food, medicine, and nutrition, co-developed by ISRO and NASA, as part of international collaboration in human space exploration.


✈️ Indian Air Force Sends Its Pride with Blessings

In a morale-boosting video call, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh personally wished Shukla a safe and successful journey. The IAF later tweeted:

“As Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla prepares to embark on #Axiom4, Chief of the Air Staff and all Air Warriors of IAF wish him and the entire crew all the best. This mission adds a new chapter to the Indian Space Odyssey.”

The message has since gone viral, symbolising a nation’s pride.
