🌟 A Celebration Rooted in Culture, Driven by Youth

Held annually in the month of Ashadha (June-July), Rath Yatra, also known as the Festival of Chariots, commemorates Lord Jagannath’s annual journey from the Jagannath Temple in Puri to the Gundicha Temple. But this year, the festival wasn’t confined to Odisha—it echoed through classrooms, corridors, and campuses across the country.

At Saraswati World School, students brought the essence of the festival alive with a miniature yet magnificent chariot, traditional attire, devotional music, and beautifully choreographed cultural performances. Teachers, staff, and parents joined in, creating an environment of unity and shared celebration.

“It was magical. For our students, it was a lesson in devotion, heritage, and togetherness—all outside the textbooks,” said the school Principal Mrs. Biswas.

🎉 Highlights from the Saraswati World School Rath Yatra:

  • 🛕 Handcrafted Chariot: Designed and built by students under teacher guidance.
  • 👩‍🏫 Teacher Participation: Teachers led the bhajans and narrated the story of Lord Jagannath’s annual journey.
  • 🎭 Cultural Program: Odissi dance, Vedic chants, and devotional songs by the school choir.

“This celebration has helped us connect with our roots. It’s not just a festival—it’s a feeling,” said a student participant.

🙌 The Spirit of Rath Yatra Nationwide

From Gujarat to Assam, Bengal to Maharashtra, schools and cultural organisations embraced the festival with processions, folk performances, and traditional sweets. Some CBSE schools even used the occasion to teach students about the cultural significance of Rath Yatra in Indian culture and art.

International Indian schools in Dubai, Singapore, and London also joined the celebrations, proving that the Rath Yatra celebration is a truly global phenomenon.
