Mumbai, May 16, 2025—On Tuesday evening, a jaw-dropping yet deeply troubling spectacle unfolded on Mumbai’s Eastern Freeway near Hazrat Sayyed Abdul Qadir Dargah in Shivaji Nagar. Three young Mumbai Taxi Drivers turned the busy road into a stage for dangerous stunts. The incident, which took place around 8 p.m., was caught on camera and quickly went viral, drawing sharp criticism and sparking safety concerns across the city.
Mumbai Tax Drivers stunt
The video of Three young Mumbai Taxi Drivers—now widely circulated across social media—captures the trio in a high-risk act that could have easily turned fatal. One driver is seen recklessly controlling a moving car while three accomplices dangle out of its windows—two from the back and one from the front passenger side. The most perilous moment comes when the driver stretches his hand out of the window to clasp hands with an accomplice in another car racing alongside, forming a fleeting but extremely dangerous human link between the two speeding vehicles.

The stunt, which horrified viewers and authorities alike, led to the swift arrest of the individuals involved. The accused have been identified as Adnan Mohammed Eesa Khan (20), Muqeem Bashir Khan (22), and Junaid Awdali Khan (20)—all residents of Govandi and taxi drivers by profession.
Action by Mumbai Police
Acting quickly on the viral footage, Mumbai Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) in the Chembur area under charges of reckless driving and endangering public safety. All three men are now in custody.
“This kind of irresponsible behaviour goes beyond thrill-seeking—it’s a blatant disregard for human life,” said a senior police official. “Our roads are not playgrounds. We urge citizens to report such acts immediately to help us prevent potential tragedies.”

Public response to the video of Mumbai taxi drivers has been swift and unforgiving. While some users on social media admitted to being momentarily stunned by the visuals, the overwhelming sentiment was one of condemnation. “It’s shocking and stupid. One slip, and we’d be mourning a tragedy,” wrote one user on X. Others lauded the police for their prompt response, calling for stricter penalties to deter such reckless conduct.
As Mumbai grapples with increasing traffic and road safety challenges, this incident stands as a chilling reminder of how momentary acts of thrill, especially when magnified by social media virality, can lead to real-world consequences. The message is clear: the pursuit of online fame must never come at the cost of human lives.
