Hidden in the quiet village of Aziznagar, just 20 km from Hyderabad, lies a cinematic spectacle that’s turning heads across the film industry. Built for the upcoming horror-fantasy film The RajaSaab, starring Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt, this 38,000 sq ft indoor set is not only India’s largest film set—it may well be one of the largest of its kind anywhere in the world.

🏰 A Haveli Like No Other

The Rajasaab

Spanning a massive 160 ft x 220 ft, the set is a palatial haveli, meticulously designed to blend royal aesthetics with haunting undertones. Crafted by acclaimed art director Rajeevan Nambiar, the two-storey marvel is built using stone, fibre, and wood, featuring:

  • Grand libraries and dining halls
  • Sinister staircases and secret corridors
  • Realistic kitchens and bedrooms
  • A ritualistic torture chamber that chills to the bone

“This is the world’s largest indoor set,” Nambiar stated. “It took 1,200 crew members working over 4–6 months to bring this beast to life.”

🎬 A Cinematic Playground for Horror and Fantasy

Unlike traditional sets, this one is fully functional:

  • Chandeliers stretch across 100 feet
  • Kitchens stocked with real spices and ingredients
  • Bookshelves and bedrooms adorned with authentic and faux elements
  • Portraits of Sanjay Dutt as the enigmatic Raja Saab dominate the eerie interiors

Director Maruthi and producer TG Vishwa Prasad opted for the massive set to facilitate complex sequences, including a much-anticipated “upside-down” horror scene teased in the trailer. With controlled lighting and AC-ducted climate, the crew can shoot long hours comfortably—no small feat in Indian summers.

🔮 The Chilling “Prayer Room”

Perhaps the most unsettling part? A “prayer room” that’s anything but spiritual. Disconnected from the central air conditioning, it’s dark, humid, and filled with props resembling black magic rituals—complete with ashes, burnt wood, eerie dolls, and occult symbols.

“It’s not just a set, it’s a character in itself,” a crew member said. “It breathes with the story.”

👑 The RajaSaab: Horror, Heart, and High Stakes

With The RajaSaab, Indian cinema isn’t just pushing the envelope—it’s building it brick by haunted brick. With Prabhas in the lead, and a cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, the film is expected to blend psychological horror, fantasy, and royal mystique into a genre-defining experience.

Fans and filmmakers alike are watching closely—The RajaSaab may very well set a new benchmark in Indian production design.
